In a Nutshell: “Wow, has this boy come a long way in just one week!
When Mezzi came to his foster home initially, he was terrified and wouldn't leave his crate.
He is now enjoying leashed walks, uses a doggie door, and enjoys laying in the sun. He has bonded with his foster family too! He fits in great with his two foster brothers, who are also short-legged doggies.
Mezzi loves to curl up next to foster mom on the couch, burrows under the covers at night, and even gets a little silly from time to time! He hangs out and sleeps most of the day, but sure does love treat-time, chewing on a bone, or checking out the toy bin.
Mez "free roams" the house with his two brothers when mom leaves. He gets a little nervous and sometimes vocal, but being around the other dogs helps him realize everything is okay.
He has done great meeting other small dogs in the neighborhood, and takes a little more time to warm up to dogs that are bigger than him.
Mezzi learns fast and while he's currently shy and skittish in a lot of ways, he has a really bright future. He is mostly pottying outside thanks to his doggie door and routine.
He would love a patient and savvy adopter who can help make sure he stays safe. Having a confident dog in the family would be amazing for this little guy. Rumor has it he loves cats, too!
Older, dog-savvy kids would most likely be just fine with patience, as he has come so far in a very short amount of time.
Also…Mezzi has angel wings on his chest! Must be a pretty special guy!"
